Zanaroli, Giulio

Biography

Giulio Zanaroli (1976), PhD in Applied Biocatalysis and Industrial Microbiology (2005), is Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biotechnology of Fermentations at the University of Bologna since 2008. His research focuses mainly on the biodegradation of (chlorinated) organic pollutants in different environments and the biostimulation of the involved microbial communities. He also works on the biotech production of biobased chemicals from conventional feedstocks and agroindustry by-products. He currently participates in 5 EU-funded projects (FP7 & H2020, 1 co-coordinated) and 1 JPI-Oceans project on these topics.
