Casiraghi, Maurizio


Maurizio Casiraghi is an Associate Professor in Zoological Sciences at University of Milan-Bicocca, Milan, Italy.

The main interests of Maurizio Casiraghi are: biological and molecular evolution; symbioses and microbiome evolution; environmental studies based on DNA analyses; DNA barcoding and metabarcoding; HTS techniques used to characterize complex matrices.

He is the former president of the Italian Society for Evolutionary Biology and member of scientific societies. Maurizio Casiraghi is also a cofounder of ZooPlantLab®, a research lab working on biodiversity and environment related issues and of FEM2 – Ambiente S.r.l., a start-up involved in technology transfer on biodiversity and biotechnology.
