Rita Grandori, born in Milan in 1961, is associate professor of Biochemistry at the University of Milano-Bicocca. She completed her Master degree in Biology in 1984, followed by her PhD in Molecular Biology in 1989 and her specialization in Biotechnology in 1991 at the University of Milan. She has been a visiting researcher at the European Laboratory of Molecular Biology (EMBL) in Heidelberg (Germany), at Princeton University in New Jersey (USA), and at the Universities of Salzburg and Linz (Austria), where she obtained her Habilitation in Protein Science in 2002. Her research activity has focused on cell-cycle control, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics, and protein mass spectrometry. Her current projects focus on intrinsically disordered proteins and amyloid protein aggregation.
